Magnetic Jewellery

How Do I Put the Bracelet On?
It is best to use two hands and pull the bracelet apart at any point (We promise that you will not break it). They are not elasticized so trying to put them on using one hand only may prove challenging.

Do they fall off?
The magnets used for this jewellery are the strongest type commercially available. The magnetic force that keeps these bracelets together is strong enough to withstand a reasonably vigorous arm flailing, and not fall off. If for any reason it does fall off you will find that magnets stick together and do not scatter around like beads or pearls.

Do the magnets ever lose their magnetism?
The type of magnet we use is commonly referred to as Permanent Magnet. They have a theoretical life span of 20 years, but this isn't really known as they were only developed in the mid-80's. If they are heated to above 80°c (176°F) their magnetism will diminish as the heat rises until they cool off. This said we think you will agree that if this jewellery gets subjected to temperatures above 80°c while you are wearing it, the loss of magnetism will be the least of your worries.

Will I get stuck to passing cars?
The magnets are more attracted to themselves than to metal objects. Depending on the bracelet you may find that you have a tendency to pick up some cutlery and the newer 1p and 2p coins. Even if you bump into a metal object the bracelets are unlikely to part company with you, and you will not get stuck.

Can this jewellery be broken?
Since this jewellery is not held together by a string or clasp, it is not possible to break it as you would traditional jewellery. It is however possible to chip the plating by letting the magnets excessively slam together. Slamming can also cause some of the shapes to shatter. It is not a defect, but a nature of the alloy used.

Can I Take It With Me Into The Water (swim, bath, & shower)?
While it is possible, it is not recommended

Will I kill my credit cards, mobile, PDA, watch or iPod?
Generally speaking it is not a good idea to subject these types of items to magnetic fields as damage can occur. Electronic items can be corrupted if subjected to magnetic fields, but this will usually only happen with a prolonged direct exposure. Motorized watches can slow or even stop if exposed to a direct magnetic field due to their tiny electric motor. The watch will typically restart and keep correct time once the magnetic field is removed from direct contact. CRT displays will show a distorted picture if subjected to a directed (N or S directly facing) magnetic field. Simply removing the magnet from the vicinity and/or degaussing the display will typically return it to normal function.

Are there any adverse/positive health effects?
Magnets do not cause any known adverse health effects. This said, individuals fitted with pacemakers or using electrical insulin pumps should not wear this jewellery as a precaution. The bracelets may cause some skin irritation for people who suffer from metal allergies. Lastly, there are some sizes of magnets used that can cause a serious pinch if soft skin is allowed to get between two magnets.

Many people have reported positive health and well-being effects. While we do not sell or advertise these magnets as 'therapeutic', their magnetic field is stronger than most magnetic therapy products on the market. Many customers have reported the disappearance of various chronic aches and pains after wearing the bracelets.
